How do I go about giving myself the perfect blowdry? My hair always looks so gorgeous when I've been to a stylist.

Adam Reed, Creative Manager answers:

Knowing how to achieve a great blowdry will mean every day is a good hair day from now on. It's not something that should remain a salon secret but can benefit you for years to come. Try watching your stylist next time you go to your salon and see if you can recreate their technique at home. Failing that you can always ask them to give you a lesson!

Follow my step by step guide and you'll have beautiful salon hair in no time.

Gently pat as much moisture away from the hair as possible using a towel. Rubbing the hair will ruffle the cuticles and cause frizz and tangles. Then comb the hair from the tips to avoid stretching and breaking it. Tip your head upside down and rough dry your hair with the dryer on a medium heat until it is 70 per cent dry. Lift and separate the hair at the roots and through the length with your fingers to create volume. When the hair is still slightly damp apply a styling product such as the Super Sleek Straightening Balm which will give you a smooth sleek finish and thermal protection.

Section the back, top, fringe and sides with big clips. Starting at the back, unclip and style one section at a time. Use the brush to lift the hair at the roots, then pull away to dry the length curling the brush under at the end of the hair for a classic blow-dry look. Then set the dryer to cold facing down the shaft of the hair for a shot of cool air that will set the hair and close the cuticles giving extra shine. Once your have blowdried each section of hair add a little High-Shine Glossing Spray for a lustrous shine that will last all day for the perfect finishing touch.
